River Jazz

The James River High Jazz Band is an audition-only performing group focused on jazz. In 2026, they went to the VBODA Jazz Assessment for the first time in many years, and earned a "superior" rating. Judges evaluated the River Jazz Ensemble on their quality of sound, style & interpretation, time & rhythm, solos/improvisation, and technique & musicality.
